Tiffany Steinbacher

The good thing about shooting in Mound Valley first it is my hometown, second I pretty much know everyone. So if I see something I want to shoot it isn't a problem. Tiffany Steinbacher from Erie was here this morning and we took advantage of this old tree swing for some photos. I think my subject was attacked by some hungry mosquito's at this location. Another one of those "elements" to deal with in the summer!

SARAH BILLINGSLY

Well it is summer in Kansas and senior picture time. And that means one thing it's HOT! But we continue on. So a good time for some water pictures. Sarah Billingsly from Chetopa was here yesterday and we made it out a few times and to some water. So hopefully we didn't bake her to bad in the heat. As I have said before you learn to work with the elements and weather.

"Jarod"

A couple of shots from Tuesday morning's shoot. Subject is Jarod Cruse from Parsons who attends Labette County High School. As is evident in these photos a plain black shirt or any article of black clothing photographs great. It does not distract from the subject and lets the viewer of the photo really "see" the subject. So remember on photo day always a good idea for one plain black outfit.

"AMANDA"

Some images from a senior session on Friday. Amanda Haile from Parsons High School is the subject. And I have to say it was fun! It was hot and windy but we just worked with it. Sometimes there are just never the exact right weather conditions and if there are I have nothing to shoot so as a photographer I try to have some spots to get out of the wind. I love the black and white prom dress photo. Just one of the last frames we shot but I really like the feel of that photograph. Amanda doesn't take a bad photograph so my job on Friday was so easy. There will be more of this session posted on the website when I get them all together. I am still learning my process of the digital world but I have to say I really like it and don't think I could go back to film, and that is only after shooting digital for six months. Thanks to Amanda for being a great subject and working with the elements.

"Landry"

A couple of shots from a studio session this morning. A little background on the subject. Landry's
grandmother and I will say (grandmother) which she hates being called that she has her own special name she calls herself but I call her grandma. A little background, Landry's grandmother is a mound valley native and she and my sister grew up as best friends. And I think she spent almost as much time at our house as her own. So she is basically a second sister to me. And of course we all keep in very close contact even though Pam now lives in Terrell Texas. Pam's daughter, Amber has come to Mound Valley for her senior pictures and I went to Texas and shot Amber's wedding gown formal photos (which is posted in my black and white gallery) and her wedding. So this Landry's first Kesler photo and I must say they came out very nice. And I know that GRANDMA is thrilled!!!

"Melissa"

A couple of images from today. The client, Melissa Parrett from Independence. We got outside and did some shots before more rain came. Seems like that is the order of business lately. The flowers are in our "flower lady's" yard in Mound Valley. Mary Brown has the best green thumb in town and she always lets me use her wonderful flowers. I also always try to do at least some really close up black and whites also. I think it really brings the viewer to that person and their eyes. We also shot some at the creek which one is one the first gallery on my website so check it out. Hope Melissa had a good time even though we had her crawling through flowers and some pretty rough rocks but the pictures are always worth it.

Ricky Harter Family

A family shot from a session this evening. Just letting the kids do what they want and see what happens. And as most of the time something always happens that is fun and interesting. And hopefully not to posed. But always never a dull moment in getting these images.
